I am by no means a writer but I am a planner. My name is Lisa and I have been planning gatherings, parties, and outings for as long as I can remember (the weddings came later in life).
I grew up in a house that was always open, and filled with people. From friends, youth group parties, jam session, our close family and the occasional stranger we were always hosting someone. That love for having people around and making people feel comfortable followed me through college, into my own home and into my business. I have planned a number of weddings in the past 5 years and there are really only 2 things that I focus on for each wedding. 1. Making sure the bride and her family are not stressed the day of. There is a lot to get done when planning a wedding and as much as you do in the months leading up to the day of the last couple days will always surprise you. Everyone that is helping is looking to you and your parents for answers to questions you might have not even thought of when you should be hiding in the back drinking a mimosa and getting your hair done. Somebody else should know all of the answers and be the point person so that you can have your day. 2. Making your family and guests comfortable There can be a lot of uncertainty for the people not directly involved on the wedding day. Grandma doesn't know when to walk down the isle, dad is unsure of when he is supposed to speak and guests don't know if they wait for the couple to eat or go ahead and get in line. Uncertainty makes people uncomfortable. When people have direction and someone close at hand they know they can rely on they get to enjoy their time as well. It would be an honor to be apart of your big day and one that I would not forget!
